Cell Phones - A bane or boon?

Okay people, i'm a little busy today and therefore won't have time to post . However, i do have something that i had written earlier :)
At the beginning of last year, I had an assignment to write a speech on Mobile phones, so i've just copied that here. I've not even read it again to check for mistakes. If there are any then please do excuse me :)


Over the years, cell – phones have evolved as a major part of our life. They have not only made work easier, but have also worked as a major source of entertainment. Along with acting as a link between us and our loved ones, cell-phones offer us a  wide range of leisures. The number of fun applications on mobile phones is increasing day-by-day.  They have also cut off our expenses on cameras, music players, even laptops or computers and other such gadgets by working as an all-in-one entertainment device.  They have made life much easier. Money transfer, payment of bills…….you name it! They are our greatest source of help during emergencies. Finding current locations, directions, contacting the police and hospitals, everything can be done with this miraculous palm-sized device.

However, everything in this never ending universe comes with its set of positive and negative characteristics. Where on one hand, cell-phones enhance our lives; on the other hand, they pose a threat to our lives in innumerable ways.  Mobile phones emit radiations that are considered to be very harmful to the brain. They are known to pervade the blood-brain barrier.  Although, it is not yet confirmed, the world fears increased cancer threats, through mobiles. Mobiles are also huge distractions, not only while driving, but also while crossing roads. Apart from this, they also distract people, especially children from focusing on daily activities.With the age-old quote of ‘too much is too bad’, I would like to culminate this speech by advising every one of you to spend limited time on mobile-phones, thus making it a boon, rather than a bane.

Poetry: Life Distilled

After reading my introduction, you guys might already know that I love poetry. Be it reading poems or writing them, i am a biiiiiiiiig poem fan :)

Last year, when i found this poem, i could connect with it to some extent, but i never thought that someday, this will become my reality. (For those who don't know, let me just add that i've lived in The [amazing] Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the first 14 years of my life and moved to India during June 2012 . )

 Moving on to the poem, the rhyme scheme is something that hooks me to poem but this poem dosen't seem to have any , yet it just makes me want to read it again and again.

Hobbies

Hello dear readers!
So I am going to write yet another post and this time I know exactly 'what to write'! Hobbies. Yes that's it.
Every one of us have free time. It's not like none of us have it. Most of us just simply waste , others do something. Well , I cannot say I spend all my free time doing something but most of it I do know what to do. I love listening to music, I love to draw , I learn about html codes , and my most favorite hobby is doing graphics. I am no professional but I enjoy doing it. That is the reason I do it.
I personally think we should utilize our free time doing something that refreshes our mind. There are many hobbies one can adopt. For example:
1. You can start a scrapbook.  Those amazing photos of our lifetime. Collect them all and make it a scrapbook of you life cycle or you can make a scrapbook of something which you are crazy about like celebs , universe etc.

2. Play games. Outdoor or indoor does not matter. It can be anything you like. For indoor games you can opt badminton or chess or any other board games. For outdoor why not go for soccer , basketball if your tall, or volleyball?

3. Learn something new. It can be fun learning something which you don't know. Believe me , eventually the thing you learned will come in use. you can try to learn a new language , or learn cooking?

4. Let your creative mind run free. You can do so by either painting , or sketching , or illustrating it using PC , or even by writing etc.

These are some of the ideas for choosing a hobby. So why don't you try to adopt a hobby? Just so if you want to know , Hobbies actually increase the capacity of your cerebrum since it refreshes your mind. So tell me pps...won't you get up from you couch and convert your conserved energy to something useful!

What to write?

So, I open the blogger dashboard , decide to write a new post. I open the posting area and sit simply. Seriously,  I have no idea what to write. I try to brainstorm a lot of ideas , but then I again ran out of ideas. Its not easy to find an idea about a post to write ,you know! I wish my hands just automatically typed so that I don't have to put much work on to it, thereby saving my most valuable energy! But still , here I am , still thinking 'What to write'. What to write what to write.so I take a break for about 15 minutes and come back but its of no use. I feel this all the time. I try to draw. I think and think and think but never find a good picture. Most of the time I just end up scribbling the page. If this was a paper and the keyboard was a pen I would literally scribble out here. But , its not.  So let me think. Should I write or Should I not.

Taking a pen  , and sitting to write won't help to write a post. We need to have inspiration , imagination and some kind of crazy ideas.  I always thought that pen is  like a sword. It literally is but language is also  important . For example , if you take a review , the words written by the author says it all. It depends upon how the author expresses his opinion  about something. That decides the fate of the stuff he is writing a review about. Did you guyz ever read a story called " Shady Plot"? It's like the author is calling upon heavens all day to write a ghost story and then a ghost materializes in the room and at last he finds out that it is the ghost who puts idea into his mind and not he himself.

SO , if I cry and call upon the gods of writing will they materialize here? If they do , then my mom who is talking on phone right now will scream out. Well yeah, that's true! So now tell me people what should I write? Thinking about this , my mind went on a crazy ride. I was just thinking how fun it would be to watch dinosaurs on a roller coaster ride. I doubt if they will ever get a ride on it since they are waaaay too heavy to even seat themselves comfortably . Poor creatures.They will never be getting that ride anymore!!!

Well my mind went on many more rides but I can't write it all right? So am still confused... WHAT TO WRITE? ;)

If you never try, you'll never know

Okay so here we go..!
Yesterday night my mind was flooding with ideas for my first post and today it's blank..there is nothing in there (as usual - never there when I need it) . So anyways, I started checking my notebooks to find anything that I've written worth posting but everything seemed too boring for a first post. Several files, folders and google searches later, I finally decided to post something that connects with our ( Afrin's and mine) current situation.

This quote needs no explanation. Nothing has ever been achieved without people making the decision to try. Be it your favourite author or sportsman, nobody would be where they are today if they hadn't decided to TRY. Many a times we feel inclined towards a specific task or activity, several ideas strike our brain, but we usually don't pursue them thinking " Naah, it's not my cup of tea" . But the truth is that, nothing really is anyone's cup-of-tea. Nobody is born knowing everything. It is only when they decide to try and pursue what they are interested in that they become successful. Walt Disney was fired by a news editor because he lacked imagination (!) and was turned down 302 times before he got the financing required for creating Disney World! Now this is just one example. There are many many immensely successful people who had to face adversity and i am sure almost all of you know at least one such person. My most favourite teacher Mrs Claudia Bosser (R.I.P) once told me something that I am never going to forget :
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step in the right direction and to do what one is good at, one has to keep trying to do it better and better"
So all of you who have plans of writing a book, starting a blog, learning cooking or any other activity in your mind, go ahead and give it a try. You may not do well in the beginning but eventually things will come your way :)

Hey people :)
My name is Tanisha Shetty :) I'm a 15 year old  and was born on 20th of December ( and i love that date - not cuz it's my birth date but because I love december and 20 is even, composite and a multiple of 10 ). I have spent the first fourteen years of my life in The amazing Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

I am a little bit of everything. I either worry about every little thing or I don't worry at all. It is usually my mood that decides which part of me has to be activated and having said that - I am a very moody person . There isn't one specific thing i am passionate about, it's more like I am passionate about life as whole. I love learning new things and get excited very easily - but then, I lose interest just as fast as i gain it. I act on impulses and usually just do things without thinking, but as i said, i am a lil bit of everything so sometimes i do think -  A LOT..but that's just sometimes. I am a carefree person and pressure and responsibility do not bring out the best in me, in fact they bring out quite the opposite in me. I dislike hypocritical, fake and narrow-minded people. I am more of an introvert but once i get comfortable with people, i become VERY talkative. I love Greek mythology and learning new languages. I am obsessed with reading books, writing and watching movies and they are mostly what i'll be writing about. I strive for perfection in the things i am interested in. I am a curious person and seek knowledge,  joy,  enjoyment,  indulgence,  satisfaction and pleasure.  I would rather work behind the scenes than be the center of attention. I like being alone and do a lot of self-talking. But i also love being around my friends. Algebra, Astronomy, Psychology, Biology, History and Literature are my favourite subjects. I like to do things my own way EVEN if there is a better way. I am more of a night person and truly get going only after the sun has set. I can sleep for as long as the sun is out. I LOVE the winters <3 . I hate confinements of any kind and freedom is something i cannot live without, it is as important to me as what? - air maybe?. I don't do well with rules, responsibility and commitment. Although I have no pets, i looooooove animals, specially dogs, horses and elephants.

Hello There :D

Hi,
My name's Afrin. I am 15 years young. My birthday falls on 12th February. I am a dreamer  A true dreamer. I dream a lot about so many things in life. Sometime they go wild. I love my family a lot. My friend means a   lot to me. It is to her, whom I say most of my craziness. I love crazy stuffs. Which is why most of the time I do crazy things. I am a lover of chat language. Seriously , they are so easy and convenient. We don't have to spend much time writing the whole word. For example if we take the word "language" , in chat language we can write it 'Lang" which saves time! Be it 0:006 seconds. Ha you must have by now guessed it. Yes , I am lazy, probably the most laziest girl alive. Like seriously , I am so lazy to even reply to my FB messages. Tanisha knows best  about my idiotic behavior . I am a genuine music lover. My favorite singers? well there are many but on the list , the no.1 would be Rihanna as the female singer , p.Diddy as the male singer and One direction as the boy band and Black Eyed peas as the band. Right now am repeatedly listening to ' I'm coming home by P.Diddy & Dirty Monkey <3 and Thrift shop <3' My favorite pass time is drawing. I do that a lot. I've drawn Johnny Depp , Zayn Malik , Niall Horan , Harry Styles and many other miscellaneous things.I love graphics too. I just do them a lot but as I am impatient I never complete most of them :P

For people to understand me, will be tough. Sometimes am a cute person . Sometimes I am very angry which is like most of the times. I am a person with an easy attitude. I say everything I feel. But I make sure not to hurt them. But if they hurt me , well they'r gonna see the monster in me. Well , this attitude applies for all my loved ones too. If anybody insults them I behave the same way. I call it possessive jealousy. I came to realize that when my friend (Tanisha) said it to me. Well its ultimately true. I like being creative. I like to think different. Something which nobody would even think about that. Well so far , I think it has paid off.  I love mathematics. I just get it done with not much pressure but I hate Science but I like physics :D I usually don't have full stops, most of my sentences end with either :D or :P or it can be :) or ;) or :(. Well those are pretty much my punctuation marks  instead of a single (.) :D (told ya) ;)

With that we are gonna start off.
Our names are Afrin and Tanisha. We are best friends. We do all the crazy things in the world together though sometimes Afrin leaves Tanisha all alone when she does stupid things :P This blog is born out of pure boredom - to convert our boredom and laziness into something useful. This blog will be a home to posts ranging from things happening with us, DIYs ,articles written by us,our poems and various other random stuff .
